CITY OF AKRON MINOR HOME REPAIR PROGRAM

The City of Akron Minor Home Repair (COAMHR) program targets low-income, elderly homeowners or homeowners with a disability.

The COAMHR program makes repairs to major home systems, such as: roofs, furnaces, plumbing, electrical, etc. The program also assists with providing accessibility modifications.

RTNEO - LEAD SAFE AKRON PROGRAM - ENDS MARCH 2029

Eligible households include those with a child under the age of 6 living in the home (or frequently visiting), which are at 80% of the median household income and live in a home built before 1978 which contains lead-based paint.  Types of assistance may include new siding, doors, windows, porch repairs, and other improvements which address lead-based paint.  Both owner occupied households, and rental structures of 1-4 units are eligible.  Please call 330-773-4100 for more information or email info@rebuildingtoghetherneo.org for further info (please put Lead Safe Akron Program in subject line)to request an application for assistance. Safe and Healthy Homes Program

Our Safe and Healthy Home Program provides safe and healthy modifications for vulnerable populations impacted by asthma and modifications needed to make a home safe for older adults.   RTNEO interventions will remove and/or repair factors that cause poor air quality, provoking asthma and provide other home modifications to ensure a safe and healthy home.

Requirements:

 You must be able to verify that you are:

1.     At least 62 years old and/or have a disability. OR

2.     You must have a child between the ages of 6 and 18, WITH an asthma diagnosis from a physician.

3.     Own and reside in (at least one year) a single-family dwelling in Cuyahoga, Portage, Stark or Summit Counties. 

4.     Must be current on property taxes or on a tax payment plan with the county you reside. 

5.     Under the following household income (all members of the household’s income must be included) guidelines to qualify for assistance:
